I found this movie to be an incredibly powerful piece of work. The idea that scofield had to cut off the thoughts of everything he loves in order to survive was a fascinating conceit. When you here tom talking about home, like it's something within reach, scofield refuses acknowledge it. There are times he looks in the tin to get a glimpse of the picture, but is that just because he needed to every now and again take a peek at what is waiting for him.

The scene where his friend dies because of that German pilot. That scene really pulled on my heartstrings man.

I absolutely love this film. This is one of those movies I can watch over and over again and never get tired of it. You really did a great job by educating viewers about the priceless contributions of the numerous unsung Indian and African soldiers. Absolutely Mind blowing On what this movie sets for It,I was Speechless walking out of this movie,So If you don't have anything to do go See this Movie. The only failing of this movie would, and could only be, two parts.
First: That it is so incredibly rich and full bodied in raw emotion, and delivers to us all a sense of magnitude, that one soldier can carry on his shoulders that if he dose not fulfil the duty of his orders given. This could be a over powering sense of Reality and maybe even an awakening for some, who didn't know just what the price of serving there country might be at all like in a trench or in a war. more then that, it's shows the weight of courage that only comes when the lives of your fellow man is at stake. Using the art, and magic, of the cinema it's clear to all those watching this movie, those who carried such a Humongous task in war time real were the hero's that this film proclaims then to be.
Second: the only other fault any might find is simply that this movie is so outstanding outspoken, because it has none near, or close, to its excellence in its masterful delivery as a feature film. New a fresh camera styles, that need no mention, as there awards given speak in far greater magnitude then I could tell you. Mix this with a story, that clearly holds close place in the directors/writes heart, can only equate to a masterpiece of film making artistry that Is matched in all areas around this movie. Cinematography, props, sound, lighting. any aspect that we look at closely, I can promise you won't find faults or room for improvements.
This means that such a Goliath of a movie, is stand alone at the top, only with a handful of others. Not only of its genre, but it is so rare a work of art, that is can not able but out weight its opponents, because quite simply its in a class of its own.
I believe this film to be the greatest work of this masterful filmmakers that I have been privileged to enjoy, and I believe fully that as a testament to his grandfather and the service to his country, That sick a beautiful and power take upon his story would have made him overwhelmingly proud and thankful to his grandson.
On a personal note, this is first first movie to ever inspire me to write a review of my feeling as the credits roll up screen, and I hope the passion of my writing over comes, what I sure I have made, is a lot of grammatical errors.

Gonna watch it today. Thanks to all those men that fought in this war. Mad respect to all those Wildcat pilots, and especially their tail gunners, who were strapped in back there. Fighting off Japanese Zero fighters. That took a lot of guts. On both sides. Would have been a nerve wracking job to say the least. It's easy to look at that fight from your own country's perspective, but the Japanese were fighting for their country as well. Just like our men, they had families back home that loved them.
